Comrade Shu Sheng's article admits that the wide gaps between the minimum test score requirement of different places in regard to the college entrance examination are an irrational phenomenon. On the issue of how to adopt measures to narrow these gaps, he made a number of positive proposals. But on some questions, he seems to have an insufficient spirit of reform and one suspects that he is avoiding the important and dwelling on the trivial. A case in point is that he thinks the national key colleges and universities cannot carry out unified designations of the minimum control mark line and unified enrollment mainly because this might upset the enrollment source plan.
