Attribution is the verbalization of the process of endowing an object with an attribute; in creative discourse, attribution and predication are united under the general term epithetation. A cognitive-semantic analysis of epithetation within an idiolect allows us to establish the main directions of attribute transfer and identify dominant ones, linking them to the type of poetic thinking. The article is devoted to the description of the figurative modeling of the attribute low in M. Tsvetaeva's poetry. The research based on methods such as analysis of lexicographic sources and databases, contextual analysis, lexical-semantic and conceptual analysis, and quantitative analysis of linguistic units. The polysemy of this adjective in the poet’s texts, the play with its meanings, as well as the invention of occasional epithets with this root are noted. The material of epithet complexes with the component low shows the significance of epithetation as a key way of understanding reality, and the figurative modeling of the attribute reflects the metaphorical view of the world of M. Tsvetaeva. The attribute low sign exists in opposition to the high principle, everyday life – being. The high position of a person is understood by the poet as insignificant, in contrast to the height of the soul. Baseness as the embodiment of sinful love, passion acquires metonymic attributes that connect it with the subject of speech, receives positive connotations. The diversity of attributes and their distribution to the objects of epithetation is of an individual nature, which is expressed in vivid metaphorical attributive constructions. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the parametric feature in the poet’s texts was not the subject of special consideration. The study of parametric attributes gives an idea of the poet's value picture of the world. The results of the research can be applied in the study of text stylistics and cognitive poetics.
