THE Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (Public Law 89-755) will take effect July 1, 1967 (with the possibility of a 12-month postponement for individual product categories, if the federal agencies involved find such delay to be in the public interest). Marketing people will have to become familiar with the major provisions and implications of this act. Some background information on the act, popularly known as the Hart Act, is included in this article.
