Early in their 2 years of deliberation, the members of the Task Force decided that any new and updated recommendations to be offered should be both scientifically valid and clinically meaningful. To proceed, the Task Force first agreed on definitions. We defined the periodic health examination as an early detection procedure in asymptomatic, ostensibly healthy persons, specifically a group of tasks undertaken. . . References1.
