As a basis for determining critically needed reliability and validity data, two measures of general self-concept and two measures of academic self-concept were administered to high school students in October and May of the same school year. Results indicate the need for more research investigating the psychometric properties of both independent instruments and subscales designed to measure academic self-concept.
