The adoption and usage of IoT devices is on the rise, globally, with consumers already owning smart devices planning on purchasing more devices. Consumers are generally concerned about their personal information being leaked, but are not equipped with knowledge to help them purchase products with adequate security and privacy measures. Manufacturers focus on rushing more products to the market, and do not systematically communicate information about the security features devices possess that would need to be evaluated to assess their level of security.
