More than 90% of urgent cancer referrals seen within two weeks

More than 90% of patients in England urgently referred to a hospital specialist for any suspected cancer were seen within two weeks, although there was considerable variation between different regions, according to figures published last week. Referral figures for April to June 2001 showed that 92.4% of patients with urgent referrals for cancer were seen by a specialist within two weeks.
