Automating Warfare: Lessons Learned from the Drones

This commentary explores what will happen as we remove humans from the loop of drone warfare. Four areas are considered here: (i) moral disengagement; (ii) targeted killings in covert operations; (iii) expansion of the battlespace; (iv) the illusion of accuracy.
