Celluloid Objects: Their Chemistry and Preservation

Cellulose nitrate plastic was the first synthetic commercial material. Cellulose nitrate was used to produce a great number of objects now, in museum collections. This paper discusses the manufacture, deterioration, and preservation of celluloid objects.
