ABSTRACT In this study, we correlated scores on three self-report measures of creativity and three self-report measures of self-esteem for 55 male and 63 female college students (N = 118) to test the hypothesis that these two constructs are positively related. No differences between the sexes were detected in mean scores on any of the scales. Analysis of the data with Pearson correlation coefficients and by a confirmatory factor analysis showed that the hypothesis was supported for both males and females, although the relationship seemed to be stronger for females than for males.
