The Forces experienced by Randomly Distributed Parallel Circular Cylinders or Spheres in a Viscous Flow at Small Reynolds Numbers

The forces experienced by parallel circular cylinders or spheres which are distributed at random and homogeneously in a viscous flow are investigated on the basis of Stokes' approximation. The results for the case of spheres are applied to the problem of sedimentation and compared with several experimental data.
