The article examines the necessity of forming interdisciplinary special competencies in the professional training of future social sector specialists from the perspective of the competency-based approach. In the contemporary context, shaped by the war in Ukraine, the social sector has undergone significant transformations, requiring specialists to adopt new approaches to fulfilling their professional duties. The study analyzes current research in the field of the competency-based approach, as well as the regulatory framework governing the professional training of social workers, psychologists, social pedagogues, and other social sector specialists. The concept of competency is explored as an integral characteristic of professional activity, which involves not only possessing knowledge, skills, and abilities but also the ability to apply them in changing social conditions. The author identifies and thoroughly examines the content of five key interdisciplinary special competencies: health-preserving, noological, socioperceptual, facilitative, and mediation competencies, which are crucial for effective professional activity in the social sphere. The importance of integrating these competencies into the professional training of future social sector specialists is substantiated for both wartime and post-war periods. Emphasis is placed on the need to update modern educational standards, methodological guidelines, textbooks, and curricula aimed at developing these competencies.
