This study was an attempt to determine characteristic oral and writtenbusiness communication problems of selected managerial trainees in theMemphis-Shelby County, Tennessee area and to determine whether theproblems defined by these trainees were those recognized by the secretary and immediate supervisor of the trainee. The study was designed todetermine the degree of agreement of the rankings of the problemareas, to measure the degree of expressed opinions, and to determine ifthe relationship of the expressed opinions was other than chance amongthe groups involved in business communication activities.
