Transgender Representation in Politics: Paving the Way for Inclusion and Equality in Pakistan

This academic study looks at how transgender people in Pakistan are becoming more involved in politics and government. Pakistan has a growing transgender population. Historically disadvantaged and misunderstood transgender persons have found their way into powerful positions within the government machinery through advocacy campaigns, electoral candidacies, and advisory roles. Women's participation in Pakistan's government has increased dramatically, and this is mostly due to the efforts of transgender people.
