Driver-less cars have become the latest technological advancement in the transportation industry. They are expected to revolutionize transportation by making it safer, more convenient, and more efficient. However, there are many technological issues with the security of driver-less cars, and the catastrophic effects these security issues can have on the public. Having proper security measures in place for driver-less cars poses an issue to their adoption into society, and is one of the largest inhibiting factors. This paper discusses the autonomous technology of driver-less cars, and the security problems with this technology. Exploring the current communication technologies of vehicular ad hoc networking, and how artificial neural networks and software defined networking can help to protect driver-less cars from malicious attacks.
