The Use of Convalescent Human Serum in Influenza Pneumonia—a Preliminary Report

This article discusses the use of human serum to treat pneumonia that develops as a complication from pandemic influenza. The authors conclude that "it is believed that the serum from convalescent influenza pneumonia patients has a decided influence in shortening the course of the disease and in lowering the morality."
