Analyses Of A Masonry Wall Subjected To Horizontal Actions On Its Plane, Employing A Non-linear Procedure Using Changing Shape Finite Elements

In this paper are presented the results of some analyses of a two storeyed masonry wall, carried out by a non-linear step by step procedure purposely studied to analyse masonry walls, reinforced or not reinforced, subjected to horizontal forces in their middle plane. The same wall was also analysed by a laboratory test, carried out on a full size model, by the Operative Research Unity of the Department of Structural Mechanics of Pavia University 6. A comparison between the mathematical model and the laboratory test, together with some parametric analyses carried out on the mathematical model are also presented.
