Begg's discussion of my article (above, pp. 1-8) concerning the Chronicler's account of the death of Josiah (VT 32 1982, pp. 242-8). Likewise I welcome Begg's fair and courteous presentation, consideration of which has helped me to clarify my understanding of the principal issues involved.
