Evaluating qualitative research for evidence-based medicine

Evidence-based health care requires an ability to evaluate both qualitative and quantitative research. This article shows how readers may do this by providing an explanation of the philosophical underpinnings of qualitative approaches. It also details how knowledge may be integrated within the evidence-based cycle, in order to ensure that evaluation is embedded in practice.
