Coffee is one of the most important plantation crops in India and contributes significantly to agricultural exports and foreign exchange earnings. Karnataka occupies a dominant position in the Indian coffee sector, accounting for more than two-thirds of the country's coffee production. The state has emerged as the backbone of India's coffee export industry due to its favorable climatic conditions, extensive plantation area, and established marketing network. This study examines the trends and performance of coffee exports from Karnataka and analyses the factors influencing export growth. The study is based on secondary data collected from government publications, Coffee Board reports, export statistics, and research articles. Trend analysis and percentage analysis have been employed to evaluate export performance. The findings reveal that Karnataka continues to maintain a leading role in India's coffee exports, contributing substantially to export earnings. Growing international demand, quality production, and value-added processing have supported export growth. However, challenges such as climate change, labor shortages, and price volatility continue to affect the sector. The study concludes that strategic interventions aimed at sustainability, technological advancement, and market diversification can further strengthen Karnataka's position in the global coffee market.
