· The article introduces "cognitive dignity" as an essential design principle for the implementation of neuro-technology in Industry 5.0 workplaces. It argues that ethical governance is a strict prerequisite for obtaining valid neuro-monitoring data. If workers perceive the system as punitive surveillance, they tend to conceal their symptoms or alter their behavior, which ends up corrupting the data relied upon by Artificial Intelligence. To solve this, the authors propose a three-view privacy model, an accessible explainability standard (3-2-1) to make alerts understandable, and a non-punitive action protocol (Protect-Recover-Reevaluate) focused on employee well-being, while also ensuring compliance with the European Union's AI Act.
