This article expounds disability theology and inclusiveness through the lens of Leviticus 21:16–23. Many often employ the text to promote ableism and alienate people with disabilities (PWDs) from taking up leadership positions in some Christian organisations. This study examines Leviticus 21:16–23 in its original context to provide a modern interpretative framework. The findings show that some factors, such as physical, socio-cultural, and theological, may have premised the command that excluded priests with deformities from approaching the altar. The study highlights the importance of promoting inclusiveness in African Christian communities and challenges ableist attitudes and practices.
