ABSTRACT Grounded in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework, I examined sustainability discourse in the Hong Kong Legislative Council (LegCo) Hansards. Using LancsBox X, I employed collocational and concordance analyses to investigate a 15.7‐million‐word Hansard corpus. Analyses revealed a strong economic prioritisation, with ‘development’ as the most frequent collocate. Socio‐environmental concerns were discussed within specific sectors, including health, fisheries and agriculture. Sustainable development was pursued through a governance‐centred approach that emphasised strategic planning and cross‐agency coordination. Concordance analysis identified two themes: (1) sustainable development as a holistic and cross‐sectoral governance principle and (2) environmental and resource sustainability as a strategic governance principle. The findings suggest that the global sustainability framework is locally adapted to align with Hong Kong's development priorities.
