This virtual launch, hosted by the Oman Research and Education Network (OMREN), introduced the Oman DataCite Consortium and welcomed OMREN as a new DataCite Consortium Lead in the Middle East and North Africa region. The event highlighted the consortium’s role in strengthening open research infrastructure and advancing Open Science in Oman. The event also featured examples from DataCite community members in the region, including the UAE National Library and Archives, CNUDST Tunisia, and ASREN in Jordan. Mohamad Mostafa, Community Specialist at DataCite, presented on the benefits of DataCite membership and how the consortium can help institutions improve the visibility, discoverability, and impact of their research outputs.
