Mesenteric panniculitis is an unusual benign disorder characterized by a nonspecific inflammatory process involving adipose tissue of the mesentery. The disease is of unknown etiology. The diagnosis is often difficult because conventional diagnostic methods such as barium studies of the small and large bowel or angiography give nonspecific findings. Recently CT has proved to be helpful in the diagnosis of this disease (1,2). In this paper we report the MR findings in a case of this disease and emphasize the diagnostic significance of fat-suppression imaging.
