The solution of the partial-differential diffusion equation for the infinite plane sheet is found by operational methods, subject to a surface condition analogous to Newton's law of cooling. By use of the fact that the area between the theoretical quantity/time curve, its asymptote and the quantity-axis is finite, a method of curvefitting suitable to the case is suggested. To facilitate the application of the method to experimental data two numerical tables are appended.
