Abstract The Delphi technique is often used when consensus views of experts are needed in any field or discipline. The Delphi process includes reviewing the literature on the selected research problem, refining the research question, choosing a methodology, developing expertise criteria, sending the questionnaire to the selected number of experts, collecting the responses, continuing the Delphi rounds till consensus is reached, data analysis and presentation of the results. This article outlines the need and use of the Delphi technique in nursing research.
