The article is devoted to the research of the state of the Donetsk region economic and social development in terms of political confrontation. The analysis of industry, construction, transport, small and medium business functioning, etc., as well as foreign economic relations and services provision in recent years is conducted. The conclusions are made and the directions of solving problems at this stage of region's economy development are presented.
