Bayesian Hierarchical Model for Measuring Clinical Outcomes in Maternal Care Facilities Systems in Nigeria: An Evaluation Study

In Nigeria, maternal care facilities play a crucial role in public health but face challenges related to service quality and outcomes. A Bayesian hierarchical model was employed to analyse data from multiple facilities, accounting for variability within and between regions. The analysis revealed significant differences in clinical outcomes across different regions, with one region showing an improvement rate of 15% over three years. The Bayesian hierarchical model provided a nuanced understanding of maternal care system performance and highlighted areas needing targeted intervention. Facilities should focus on improving services in the underperforming region based on the findings from this study.
