Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a powerful influence on human communication and relationship formation. This paper examines how AI shapes social relationships by integrating theoretical perspectives and recent developments in technology. AI systems such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and recommendation algorithms are increasingly embedded in everyday interactions, influencing emotional bonding and communication patterns. The paper highlights both the positive and negative impacts of AI. On one hand, AI enhances accessibility, provides emotional support, and improves communication efficiency. On the other hand, it raises concerns related to emotional dependency, reduced authenticity, and social isolation. The study further explores the role of AI across different types of relationships, including friendships, romantic relationships, family dynamics, and professional interactions. Ethical issues such as privacy, data security, and algorithmic bias are also discussed. The paper concludes that while AI has the potential to strengthen social relationships, its excessive or unregulated use may weaken meaningful human connections. A balanced and responsible approach is essential to ensure that AI supports rather than replaces human interaction.
