Abstract

1,4-Bis(benzothiazol-2-yl)benzene undergoes double cyclopalladation of the central benzene ring to form a nonpolymeric, acetate-bridged product that has been shown, by an X-ray crystal structure analysis, to be a topologically novel, counterhinged molecular box.
