This article explores the iconographic features of religious vestments as depicted in Armenian medieval miniature painting. The relevance of the study lies in the continuity observed between contemporary ecclesiastical attire and its historical prototypes, as evidenced by the representations of sacred figures in medieval Armenian manuscripts. The primary objective is to elucidate the symbolic meaning of clerical vestments by examining their ritualistic and artistic functions. The following conclusions have been drawn: a) The vestments of Catholicoi, bishops, vardapets, and priests are rendered with iconographic conventions characteristic of miniature compositions, while also preserving a degree of realism. b) Contemporary ecclesiastical vestments demonstrate clear continuity with their medieval counterparts and remain in active use. This research may serve as a valuable resource for scholars engaged in the study of Armenian medieval ecclesiastical dress and iconography.
