Objective: This study aimed to assess and describe the Vitamin D status among pregnant women and their children, and to explore trends and potential relationships between maternal and child Vitamin D levels. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study that enrolled 40 pregnant women and their children. Data were collected at a single point in time using a structured, validated questionnaire and laboratory analysis. Results: Around 65% of participants reported having taken vitamin D supplements during pregnancy, and 72.5% of the children had low vitamin D levels. Conclusions: A significant deficiency in vitamin D level was seen in both mothers and their offspring. It was implied that in the community under study, present policies on sun exposure and supplementation might not be adequate to avoid hypovitaminosis D in early childhood. Also, lack of observable associations can point to more generalized systemic issues, such as irregular dosing, low compliance, and health counseling or knowledge gaps in the general public.
