This work is an exploration, not of a foreign or unchartered territory, but rather, of the familiar. I propose an in-depth examination of the everyday life and reality right in front of me. I will use autoethnography, poetic inquiry, and arts-based research as tools to explore reality, just as former explorers used astrolabes and telescopes. Through a series of poems, I will try to more closely examine reality, not to exploit it but to revel in it, to be in awe of it. The purpose of this paper is not to achieve a purely subjective understanding or catharsis however, but rather to see the nexus between the individual and the social and use this nexus point to facilitate more exploration and questions by the readers
