Problem statement. In modern conditions, an important problem is the preservation and improvement of the urban environment, the formation of conditions that positively affect the psychophysical condition of a person, which is relevant at the stage of active development of urbanization processes. In these conditions, green plantings play a significant role in the formation of the urban environment. Green plantings contribute to the formation of a comfortable, healthy urban environment (sanitary and hygienic function), enrich the appearance and create a unique, distinctive image of the city (aesthetic function), provide conditions for mass recreation of the population in natural surroundings (recreational function). But unfortunately, modern cities, for the most part, are characterized by the predominance of an artificial environment, often with a low level of quantitative and qualitative greening indicators, and, as a rule, the absence of a systematic approach to the formation of green areas. Landscape objects, parks, squares, boulevards are often considered a territorial reserve for the construction and development of the city's infrastructure, which leads to their degradation, and in some cases, their disappearance. Protection, preservation and reconstruction of existing landscape objects, restoration (recultivation) of natural landscapes, a systemic approach to greening urban areas should be countered by these processes. Purpose of the article. To investigate the features of the modern state of greening and the prospects for the formation of a system of green plantings of a large city in the context of environmentalization of the urban environment. Conclusion. The current state of landscape objects, the level of greening of urban areas, the features of the formation of the green planting system of the city of Dnipro in time and space (analysis of materials of the city's general plan and field surveys) were analyzed. According to the results of the research, a new paradigm for the formation of the green planting system of a modern large city was proposed, taking into account a complex of factors, urbanization processes and eco-Smart technologies, in the context of sustainable development of the city, greening of the human living environment and biodiversity of architecture. The new paradigm for the formation of the green planting system of the city is based on the idea that the system of green plantings of the city develops both in horizontal space and in vertical space. The principles of the formation of the system of green plantings of a modern large city and the typology of landscape architecture objects were determined. The following are proposed: the concept of the structural and planning organization of the system of green plantings of the city of Dnipro, schemes for the formation of deep architectural and landscape spaces of the right bank with access to the water-green diameter of the river.
