ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Biology Open, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Adam Downie is first author on ‘ Ultraviolet B radiation impairs coral reef fish development’, published in BiO. Adam conducted the research described in this article while a post-doctoral research fellow in Prof. Craig Franklin's lab at University of Queensland. He is now a post-doctoral research fellow in the lab of Prof. Mike Bode at Queensland University of Technology, investigating how UVR affects coral reef fishes’ development.
