The study aims to determine the structural and semantic properties of lexical units belonging to the lexico-semantic group “Traditional names of wooden dishes and kitchen utensils” based on the material of the Yakut language. The work is novel in that it is the first one to propose a systematization of the selected group of vocabulary in accordance with the functional use of the designated objects and based on the semantic relations of words. In addition, the paper gives a description of the methods of word formation using new materials obtained from various sources of the Yakut language. As a result, a classification of the collected lexical material into three main groups is proposed for the first time. Among them are the groups “Dishes and kitchen utensils for preparing food and drinks”; “Dishes and kitchen utensils for serving and consuming food and drinks”; “Dishes and kitchen utensils for collecting, storing and preparing food and drinks”. These groups are hyperonyms in relation to specific names of wooden dishes and utensils. Next, the main methods of word formation of the names of traditional dishes and household utensils of the Sakha people are determined.
