This study examines the impact of collaborative learning with nativespeaking teachers and real-time online cultural exchange classes on high school students’ Chinese pronunciation, expressive skills, learning motivation, and cultural understanding. The participants were 130 second-year students enrolled in Chinese I at Y High School in Gyeonggi Province, who participated in online cultural exchanges with students from Tianjin Normal University’s Department of Korean Language. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and classroom observations. The findings revealed that native teachers’ real-time feedback significantly enhanced students’ pronunciation accuracy and fluency. Additionally, real-time interactions with Chinese university students notably increased learners’ motivation and interest. Students directly experienced Chinese culture, fostering intercultural sensitivity and deepening their cultural understanding. This study highlights the potential of online project-based classes combining native-speaking teacher collaboration and cultural exchanges, and suggests the need for policy support to systematically implement such approaches in second foreign language education.
