The study aims to reveal the content of teacher training for educating older adults, based on existing Russian and international practices of professional and continuing education in the field of education for older people. The article reviews current research examining the issues of education for older adults and the training of specialized teaching staff, analyzes international and Russian educational solutions for teachers, summarizes and updates the content, methods, and formats of teacher training, and draws conclusions about the structure, forms, and content of training programs. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the systematization and generalization of existing practices for training teaching staff for the education system for older adults and their content. As a result of the analysis of research materials, formats (hybrid, online, and offline/in-person), forms (lectures, seminars, practical exercises – pedagogical trials, discussions, training sessions, etc.), active teaching methods and techniques, as well as thematic content (psychological and physiological characteristics of older adults; foundations of geragogy and andragogy; creating a flexible educational environment, etc.), and structural blocks of programs and courses implemented in Russia and abroad for the training of teachers who educate older adults were identified.
