Motivation: It is assumed that there are microscopic differences between Glioblastomas (GBM) and metastatic tumors (MT). Goal(s): To investigate the differences of imaging features in different peritumoral regions of brain tumors. Approach: The imaging features of different peritumoral areas of interest were extracted from GBM and MT to evaluate the inter-group and intra-group changes of GBM and MT. Results: The inter-group results showed that the region near the enhanced edge of the tumor was the most abundant, and the farther away the region was the rarer. The differences within GBM groups were observed at the nearest and farthest edge of tumor enhancement. Impact: The imaging features can provide objective evidence for the peritumoral heterogeneity of GBM and MT, and provide help for the clinical treatment of patients.
