Art therapy (AT) is an effective intervention to improve adolescents’ mental health and learning motivation. This study examined its effects on mental health and learning motivation in enhancing emotional regulation, self-esteem, and stress management. Studies have shown that AT provides a creative outlet for negative emotions caused by psychological problems such as anxiety and depression and enhances intrinsic motivation by promoting self efficacy. In addition, schools can use it as a reward to further encourage learning engagement. Future studies should consider the long term effects as well as its adaptation in different populations. The results suggest that AT, as a therapeutic tool, can effectively improve adolescents’ mental health and learning motivation.
