A considerable reduction of average relative stress on the contact surface with rolling rolls during transition from double-zone to single-zone cold rolling of the thick strip backward-slip has been determined by analytical studies. It makes possible to increase service life of rolling rolls due to the reduction of their wear and the probability of cracking.
