In July–December 2018, a salvage excavation was conducted in and beside an old ammunition base in northern Be’er Sheva‘ (Permit No. A-8306; map ref. 176000–81000/575600–7879 map ref. of Area L 1785/5764; Fig. 1), in preparation for the development of a neighborhood (Rakafot). The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by Be’er Sheva‘ Municipality, was directed by D. Eisenberg-Degen (field photography) and A.
