The article presents the experience of the Book Cataloguing Department resulting from the implementation of the new ALMA system in the process of cataloguing the collection. The change of cataloguing rules, the application of selected RDA standards, the use of National Library descriptors as new solutions and the possibilities of the system have influenced the work organisation of the Department. The relevant issues are described using the case study method.
