This paper attempts to analyze the sources of library acquisitions made by the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University Library on the basis of information from the surviving acquisitions register from 1947 to 1957. This analysis made it possible to undertake both preliminary research into the register and the identification of selected items on the basis of the ownership marks (ink stamp) on them. The information obtained from the research could provide further research potential for tracing the, sometimes very interesting, path of a given publication between different individuals and institutions.
