Jerusalem, the Old City, Bet Ha-Bad Street

In May 2020, a salvage excavation was conducted at 107 Bet Ha-Bad Street (Khan ez-Zeit), in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem (map ref. 221952–60/631799–809; Permit No. A-8715; Fig. 1), prior to the renovation of a store. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Franciscan Custodia de Terra Sancta, was directed by A. Landes-Nagar, with the assistance of Z. ‘Adawi (archaeological inspection), L. Weinblum (computing), V. Essman (surveying and drafting), R. Zakaim (drafting), S. Halevi (photography and photogrammetry), Y. Dray (identification and illustration of milling installation), A. Reznitsky (metallurgical laboratory), D. Gazit (studio photography), A. Gyrman Levanon (digital documentation of pottery), T. Lieberman, Y. Rapuano and E.J. Stern (pottery), Y. Gorin-Rosen (glass), A. Lester and V. Schultz (glass weight), R. Kool (numismatics and metal seal), I. Ktalav (mollusks) and contractor laborers.
