In July–November 2021, salvage excavations were conducted in Area M1, to the east and southeast of Tel Yavne (Permit No. A-8999; map ref. 176/641), prior to construction work. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Israel Land Authority, was directed by P. Betzer and D. Varga, with the assistance of Y.
