leadership styles of school principals in enhancing teacher performance, thereby realizing the quality of the learning process and producing competent graduates capable of competing with surrounding schools. This research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach, aimed at uncovering the facts and realities style in improving teacher performance and the quality of education in schools. The research subjects were selected purposively, namely the principal and the teaching staff of SMP Islam Insan Kamil, Wonoayu, Sidoarjo. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed through a process of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. To ensure data validity, triangulation was employed. The democratic leadership style was able to encourage teacher performance, marked by an increased sense of responsibility among teachers, greater comfort in carrying out tasks, the development of respect and appreciation for opinions, and the courage to make decisions for the success.
