Effect of integrated nutrient management on growth and yield of cowpea with special reference to economics

The present investigation entitled "Effect of integrated nutrient management on growth and yield of cowpea with special reference to economics" conducted at University Research Farm, GHRU, Saikheda in Rabi Season 2023. The trial was conducted in nine treatments with three replication and analyzed in Randomized Block Design and the variety was used in trial is Pusa Komal for observed the growth, yield and economics of the cowpea. The treatment details T1 - FYM @ 20 t/ha + 25% RDF of NPK/ha (15:20:18.75 kg), T2 - FYM @ 20 t/ha + 50% RDF of NPK/ha (30:40:37.5 kg), T3 - FYM @ 20 t/ha + 100% RDF of NPK/ha (60:80:75 kg), T4 -Neem cake @ 5 q/ha + 25% RDF of NPK/ha (15:20:18.75 kg), T 5 - Neem cake @ 5 q/ha + 50% RDF of NPK/ha (30:40:37.5 kg), T6 - Neem cake @ 5 q/ha + 100% RDF of NPK/ha (60:80:75 kg), T7 - Vermicompost 5 t/ha + 25% RDF of NPK/ha (15:20:18.75 kg), T8 - Vermicompost 5 t/ha + 50% RDF of NPK/ha (30:40:37.5 kg) and T9 - Vermicompost 5 t/ha + 100% RDF of NPK/ha (60:80:75 kg). The observation was recorded such as plant height (cm) at 30 and 60 DAS, Number of branches/plant at 30 and 60 DAS, Days to 50% flowering, Days to first harvesting, Total Number of pods/plant, Average length of pod, gross return and net profit. The result revealed that the maximum Plant height at 30 and 60 DAS (32.61 and 57.51 cm), Number of branches/plant at 30 and 60 DAS (4.98 and 13.13), Days to 50% flowering (63.37 Days), Days to first harvesting (56.45 Days), Total Number of pods/plant (17.79), Average length of pod (27.32 cm), Fruit yield per ha (275.68 q/ha), Gross Return (Rs. 689200.00) and Net profit (Rs. 616269.00), while the minimum value was observed under the treatment T1 in all parameters.
