Objective of the research is to consider civil and regional identity as a factor of consolidation of Russian society. The methodological basis of the research. In the methodology of the study, the authors of the article proceeded from the resource approach of the identity of the Russian ethnic group and the theory of communicative action. Results of the study. Regional identity based on the characteristics of the region allows the population to form an all-Russian civic identity, which in turn affects the building of positive integrations in society. The authors identify key consolidating factors as resources for the identity of the Russian ethnic group: state-territorial, spirituality of the Russian people and the Russian language as a unifying link of Russian sociality. Research perspectives connected with the subsequent study of the strengthening of civil and regional identity in order to consolidate the Russian society.
